As to my least favorite (this is a hard one!) TMBG song, I would have to say either "You'll Miss Me" or "Santa's Beard". Probably the latter. "You'll Miss Me" has some good points--as does "Santa's Beard", but there's just something about it that gets to me... The blatant commercialism of Christams is just something that's always bugged me, and this feeds on that, most definitely. Not many people I talk to agree with me, but it still just annoys me. We've seen this topic so many times, can we not find something more creative to talk about? Oh, well, I didn't answer the first time, and I'm really trying to avoid Chem homework, and this is irrefutably tmbg-related, so: I (cringe in shame) am one of the legions of people who heard Them for the 1st time when they did cartoon videos for "Particle Man" and "Istanbul (NC)" on Tiny Toons. I am also, however, (beam with pride) one of the very few who felt motivated enough to get off my lazy ass and actually buy Flood. I remember listening to it all the way through in the car with my family and absolutely loving how different it was! (My parents liked it too -- and still do) Especially "We Want a Rock". Don't let rabidchild.paulswan fool you; he had listened to "Ana Ng" before, but didn't go and buy anything or even realize who did the song until well after I tipped him off. Someone later gave me copies of The Pink Album (!) and Lincoln on a single tape that I named The Big Book of They Might Be Giants. By the time Apollo 18 came out, we were all eager enough to demand a "friend" who had connections at a radio station to get an advance copy of the album, which we immediately copied and memorized. Then we went to see a show, and the rest is history, which will someday be enshrined in the museum dedicated to my life. Anyone else brave enough to admit the truth?
