Anyway, I always assumed that WLSD was a reference to the popular drug culture of the day. The girl with a crown and a scepter is kind of someone who has been living in that culture. She has been living 'high' (the connection of royalty 'high' with druged 'high'). She is sick of her life the way it is and she wants to get away from it. What do you think? Oh, the shows. I live in Vermont, and Philly must be about a 8 or 9 hour trip from here, and NYC basically as far, so I will not get to go to either of the shows. Even though they are so far away I tried to get my friends to go (i would make the trip if I had them along) but they obviously don't think TMBG is worth an 18 hour round trip...and I thought they were TMBG freaks! Anyway, I'm a bit dissapointed about that, and think I'll go listen to JOhn Henry to cheer me up. Go check out IRC, it's fun:) -Nathan (IRC's Linnel) University of Vermont *------------------------------------------------------------------------ "I thought you must be dead," Arthur said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided that I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. I kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic." Arthur cleared his throat, and then did it again. "Where," he said, "did you...?" "Find a gin and tonic?" said Ford brightly. "I found a small lake that thought it was a gin and tonic, and jumped in and out of that. At least, I think it thought it was a gin and tonic. "I may," he added with a grin that would have sent sane men scampering into trees, "have been imagining it." -Douglas Adams: Life, the Universe, and Everything ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Nov 1995 09:44:55 -0600 From: Paul Leonard Subject: WLSD and others like it. would anybody like for me to post an interp. of end of the tour? i got it off the "old list" about a year ago, and it really makes a lot of sense. paul ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 30 Nov 95 10:54:25 EST From: apf@caess1.cae.aro.allied.com (Adam P. The tape is 100 minutes long, and contains phone recordings (so don't expect superior quality or anything) of numerous unreleased songs, along with a number of interesting versions of songs that we all know and love. I believe there's information about it on the web site and/or in some FAQ file somewhere, but I haven't checked in quite awhile. (a funny word, isn't it?) Lrk44751@marauder.millersv.edu The power of TMBG be with you. Sorry, my sister is unrefined. But I love her. Yes I'm also crazy about German. And what else? Dear People, we will save the duck for you. Only she [the duck] has the power to _____ your poor souls. This system is really slow today. I meant only the duck can enlighten your poor souls. You should occupy yourselves with the learning of the duck. Here you can get a marvelous thing called a peanut slab (yes this is relevant, read on)and their milk doesn't just come from any old place, it comes from Bulls...and the punchline being of course that Bulls is a town in the north island, (check your atlases people, I kid you not) I've never been there but I've been to the closest Big Place (if you can call it that) called Wanganui. I talked to the lead singer, M. Doughty, after the Giants show. He was ultra-cool, unfortunately I was much too full of Gordon's to hold any meaningful discussion with him. I definitely recommend Ruby Vroom and encourage everyone to see them live. Currently, Soul Coughing is on tour with the Dave Mathews Band (make what thou wilt) in the North Carolina-Virginia-tobacco-lung-cancer-belt type region. p.s.
