Date: Sat, 18 Jan 1997 16:07:11 -0500 (EST) From: bicknell@tmbg.org There have been several changes behind the scenes at tmbg.org that I thought I would mention. I also figured an update on the chord situation would be nice, and of course, I'd never miss an opportunity to beg. First there are two news updates. An ISP wanted to carry the tmbg.list newsgroup (which is simply tmbg-list in news format) for their users. I have set this up on a trial basis to see how it works out. If it works out I may consider doing this for other ISP's. Don't ask now. As part of this deal for tmbg.list I got them to send me a redundant feed of alt.music.tmbg which should make the alt-music-tmbg mailing list gateway stay a little more up to date. I have just spent several hours updating some things behind the scenes on www.tmbg.org which paves the way for several updates. We have a huge backlog of all sorts of submissions. I will try and get some Chords up soon, and I believe Jonathan has a Interp batch lined up for the near future. I believe we'll soon have a newer, better indexing system to make it easier to find things, as well as a slightly more consistant interface in several places. As for Chord formats. I have decided for the moment to put songs up in the format I am them in just to get them on the web site. I still want to come up with a standard format. If any of you guitar players use other archives (OLGA, for instance) that have a chord format you like please send me their formatting guidelines and/or a URL so I can take a look. Finally, the begging. I have needs for the following things: 1) MIDI files of TMBG songs. Please don't send me the ones on the TMBG MIDI archive page, as I am making arrangements to use these. 2) A graphic artist. We need several graphics for the web site. So far those of us who work on the web site have show a complete lack of talent in coming up with our own graphics which is part of the reason you see so few on the web site. I'd like to find one or two people who are good computer artists to make some graphics for the site. I can't offer money, but perhaps I can offer something that looks really good on your resume. -- Leo Bicknell ------------------------------ From: KdsInThHal@aol.com Date: Sat, 18 Jan 1997 16:56:06 -0500 (EST) Message-ID: <970118165605_2090476143@emout19.mail.aol.com> Subject: TMBG: conan, xtc, etc.. :) The Conan in question was a repeat. Well hello everybody. I had a rather interesting TMBG dream last night and I thought that I'd share it with everyone. I was visiting my cousin at WashU and we were playing drinking games, while listening to TMBG, so I guess that might have been why I dreamt about Them. Here's my dream- I was at their last concert here in St. Louis-Jan.3th and 4th-and they were singing Ana NG when suddenly John F. stopped and shouted shut the fuck up, I can't concentrate you assholes! I was so mad that I yelled what's your problem? And he looked at me and started laughing. Then I was pushed on stage and graham passed me the bass, (which I play) and I started playing with them. Then I woke up.... really, really strange dream. I think I'm going crazy.
