Well I couldn't help but notice the coincidence of Them playing at the 9:30 Club tomorrow night and I thought, perhaps TMBG will also perform on Saturday or Sunday at A Taste of DC. I haven't been able to check into this, though, because the radio station will not answer their phone. So I was wondering, does anyone have the band line-up for A Taste of DC--apart from Smashmouth? I think there are 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th street stages so my guess is there are at least 8 bands if it's on Saturday and Sunday. But I also think various radio stations "own" each stage, and since Z104 owns a stage you know TMBG won't be there. Of course, They could be on the WHFS stage. Anyway, if anyone knows about this please e-mail me or the list. As far as I'm aware (and please, correct me if I'm wrong), even if you're an immortal, you age until the first time you die. John F, obviously, hasn't died yet. So John L's probably keeping an eye on John F, so he can start training him when Flansy buys it for the first time. And then, after that...who knows? I'm going to be wearing a Weezer shirt I made just last night. Only real Weezer fans will be able to tell it's a Weezer shirt, otherwise it's just a shirt with cartoon guys on it. I have no idea what to expect at the show since I've never been to a TMBG show. I hope not to make a fool of myself. Wish me luck! I really should have made a shirt that said, "Please play Mammal for me and my brother," but I did not have any fabric paint. BTW, I am new to this list. Here's a little about me: The album that introduced me to TMBG was John Henry. Some people think this is a bad album to get started on, but I REALLY loved it. I got it because my friend recommended Snailshell. My favorite song is Twisting. I'm not quite sure why. I think this is an odd song to be a favorite. I have not heard any songs by Them that I have not liked. I also like Absolutely Bill's Mood. I like it all. I also like Birdhouse In Your Soul and I Can Hear You. If I ever direct a porno movie, I would put Hypnotist Of Ladies on the soundtrack. I will never direct a porno movie, so this will never happen, but it's a nice though to end on. -Kimicee "How can it feel this wrong?" -Portishead Bishounen Hunter T =w= #2872 =rna= #11 ------------------------------ From: mjames@greed.loyola.edu (Matthew James) Message-Id: <9710110157.AA13158@greed.loyola.edu> Subject: NON-TMBG: moxy fans Date: Fri, 10 Oct 1997 21:57:52 -0400 (EDT) I know a bunch of you are Moxy Fruvous fans and I know there are4 a bunch of dates coming up. Actually, I did hear somewhere that "Ondine" and "Don't Make Me Kill You Again" were once two separate songs, but that's a technicality. It's most likely from "Ondine", I bet. By the way, what TMBG theme is this? I have a TMBG desktop theme too, but it doesn't have that sound on it. Is there more than one floating around out there? I have yet to read _Jitterbug Perfume_, but I've read _Another Roadside Attraction_ and _Skinny Legs And All_ (and I just bought _Even Cowgirls Get The Blues_ for ONE DOLLAR! at a really really awesome used bookstore with two cats and an owner named Cinnamon). They're both awesome. The books, I mean. Not the cats. Well, of *course* the cats are cool too. Anyway . . . yeah, I would recommend any of his stuff to anybody.
