Click on http://www.nj.com/maxwells/ for more info. Also performing will be Arto Linsday, who played guitar on "Hearing Aid" and Of Montreal, who have previously opened (thumbs up) for TMBG. I think Arto Linsday also wrote, "Cowtown" with JCF and JSL, but I'll have to check my archives... Anyway, it's only $8, so I hope to see you all there. I heard some 7" that they put out (I think it was split, with another band on the other side), and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Unfortunately, their latest album (the name of which escapes me right now...but it's the concept album following a couple from meeting to the break up) really, really sucks. I'm sorry...normally, I love pop music just as much as the next guy. But Of Montreal managed to fuck it up along the way. And then I saw them play at the Midwest Regional Music Festival (MRMF, in St. Louis...starting to get some decent bands) with Elf Power. Elf Power was great (they even covered the Jesus and Mary Chain!), but despite my open mind about them (I wanted them to be good, honest I did), they weren't very good. Just my two cents. Any thoughts from anyone on the best albums of the 90's issue that Alternative Press (I think it was them) put out? I haven't seen it, but I've already heard complaints (such as...no Pixies albums?!?!? They're on crack).
