This past Friday (the 27th), I was out raking :leaves in the yard (spasmotic joy here...not), feeling really, really :depressed. Raking leaves just takes the stuff out of me. Anyway, I got a phone :call from my best guy pal and went inside to get it. He didn't even introduce :himself, just said, "Turn on the radio to 94.9" (a radio station out here in :good old Virginia Beach), so I did, and lo and behold, they were playing :Birdhouse In Your Soul!!! : Well, yeah, hell yeah, I flipped out. They NEVER play TMBG on any radio :station here in Virginia Beach. I don't know about other parts of this great :state, but not here. Anyway, I found out that it was some kind of all-request :day at 94.9...man, I'd love to shake the hand of the guy who got TMBG on the :radio here. That just completely made my day. : Any other VA Beachers out there hear BHIYS?? Tune into 93.7 The Coast for World-Class Rock. They will play TMBG if you ask them really nicely. I'm sorry. Had to do it, I work for the same company. Tell you folks in the greater Hampton Roads area what, if you give me a call Friday or Saturday nights at 640-8500 (ask for Sean), I'll see if I can't get something on. I just have to walk down the hall.... BTW, I work for 850 AM WTAR, and 790 AM WNIS. Actually, I'd say think Irish lore. In Tolkien there are no evil elves. Except for one. (The main char is captured by the Unselieghe Court.) Well, two. The elf and his son. Son ends up bringing about the destruction of Gondolin, I believe. I'll have to read the Sil again to make sure. > The hero then sings They songs (mostly from Flood) at the top of his voice; the mind-readers only pick up the songs and being unused to such high weirdness, are driven insane... which just goes to show that Their music has several practical applications, as well as being sheer art. :) No fair! I had a wacky TMBG dream last night...so I thought that I would mention it. (Since I don't have much to do...plus you guys might get a kick out of it) Well, I was walking down a LONG LONG hallway with John Linnell, (teehehe, he looked adorable), and he wasn't saying much....it was odd. Then, suddenly, a big hole appeared in the floor and he fell through it!!! (GASP!) So me, not knowing what to do, followed him through the hole. Well, after falling down a slide, we both landed on a big cake! (hehe...funny.) This is when I heard some people yelling. So, I looked around and saw a lot of people in funny hats on - Flans was there too, and he was sitting in a throne!? I guess that the people were yelling at me and Linnell because we landed on Flans' Birthday cake! In the mean time...Flans just sat there and laughed like crazy at me and Linnell. He thought it was halarious! THE END! WEIRD HUH? oh, and also... <> Where was this heard of...he really directed it? I'll have watch MTV to see it! As mentioned before....Flans wrote: i.e. "My fantasy is a Xerox shop" -Snowball in hell " I got a crush, copy shop clerk" - Sleeping In the flowers I'd just like to know who the copy shop clerk is! Is Flans trying to throw us off. Maybe she doesn't exist. But....we all know Linnell is the secretive one...I dunno' its weird. Oh well...what do you guys think? I may have mentioned this before............. But I just recently ordered some videos from Russ........... I know that you a lot of you have ordered them....So I just want to know.. How long does it take for them to arrive?? -Karen aka Celeste :P "Living Is Easy With Eyes Closed, Mis-Understanding All You See." -John Lennon....another fab John L! Is Flans trying to >throw us off. so uhm, i'm pretty sure i read here that robin was married once prior to her marriage to flansy... (isn't that when the "flansy has two step-kids" thread came up?) Anyways, it's been bugging me... on Robin's Hello disc (spondee) she sang with "Mark Donato" does anyone know anything about him? would he happen to be her first husband (hahaa... think of that scenario... flansy stealing her away!) I don't really care except that i reeeeeally liked that disc... i think robin and mystery man, Mark Donato's voices totally complemented each other (just like i think flansy and linnell's work complements each others pretty dern well). So... i'd love to hear more of their stuff if it exists... not to mention, find out if they're working on anything or planning on doing anything else in the future... take it easy, JOrdaN http://www2.netcom.com/~arnot/joda/bootlegs.html ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. For those of you familiar with www.tmbg.net, you know that it has a growing archive of articles about TMBG collected since 1987. Over this past weekend, I was home for Thanksgiving, and went to the library in search of more articles (and references to shows) from the Washington Post. I had already gotten a listing of these articles from the web, but didn't want to pay to download them. :) What I'm suggesting is this: everyone in a place where TMBG play regularly, if you have the time, go to your local library and look in the main newspaper archives for TMBG articles from 1983 on. What do you do when you find the articles? Well, if they're already online, it's easy... just copy the text and email it to web@tmbg.net and Josh will put it up when he gets a chance. (make sure you include the newspaper, author, and date - and any show info you can deduce from stuff written in the article) If it's not online, there are ways to print it out (generally pretty cheap). If you feel like transcribing the articles, email them to web@tmbg.net, but don't feel obligated to. we *will* find a way to get them. :) (er, not we, Josh... I'll help, though :) Magazines, too. basically any TMBG articles that have been printed would be great... yes, this is a massive project, but with the help of everyone here, we can build this archive...
