What noticeable difference is there sans Berry? While I can only listen to oh... say 65% of REM songs (whereas 99% TMBG) and admittedly I haven't bought the last two albums either (Hello Nurse! Goodbye Wallet!) I can't see much of a difference personally. But then again, I'm a art nut, not really a music person anyhow. ^_^ >> Well, to be honest, I was growing more and more dissatisfied with R.E.M.'s music ever since the group signed up with Warner Brothers...they lost a rawness and a lyrical murkiness that I used to find very soul-lifting. Ah, the sweet smack of commercialism! ...Bill Berry's leaving the band for me was like the best reason I could think of to find greener pastures musically, because his style of drumming was one of the reasons I loved the band so much. The band always seemed like quadruplets to me...without one, it felt strange. But considering that Bill Berry made a comeback after a very scary brain aneurysm, and wanted to get out of the music scene -- to relax and enjoy whatever amount of time he had left with the amount of money he had attained, I was very happy for Bill that he chose to retire when he did. This is the song loading. This song, for a few months now, has been "The Smoking Gun", and clicking on the button before or after the song has played sends you to the the web site called "The Smoking Gun". Well, Mike's Psyduck does a wonderful rendition of "She's Actual 'Psy'ze", while my Poliwhirl can't help but make one think of "The Spiraling Shape", whilst Jigglypuff croons in the background something like a MonoPuff theme with the word 'Mono' replaced with 'Jiggly'... > ever-sincere, > eriKa, > who knows more about that stupid show than she probably should Ah, but not more than lame-o's like me!
