On the subject of The Simpsons (and in a vain attempt to bring this thread on topic for the benefit of the die-hards), on Sunday night's episode down here (it was the one where Homer eats the hallucination chilli and meets the coyote who tells him to find his soul mate), Homer drifts through Springfield and there are superimposed street signs drifting past him. It was probably some sort of reference to something, but the technique has been used in so many different things I can't say exactly what, it all seemed rather _Fritz the Cat_ to me. Anyway, one of the signs says "Severe Tire Damage". Of course, this episode was made a couple of years before the TMBG album/tour of the same name was even conceived, but Matt Groening (who still writes and animates each episode by hand) can see the future. -- "Eight heraldic hippos line the bridge, facing out to sea. It has Shannon Doherty in it. It's called Friends Till The End. Pretty weird, kind of funny and scary at the same time. Anyway, Shannon Doherty and this guy were having dinner or something and they had both just quit a band and there was a band competition coming up. The guy mentioned that they could start a new band for the competition and Shannon's character said, "Two people don't make a band..." and the guy said, "Mention that to They Might Be Giants." He said Front Line Assembly and Nine Inch Nails before that. -Keembearlee _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Now a couple things from my point of view hehe, I am flying into NYC for this show and I want to get in contact with a few people about some other issues... first off, If anyobdy plans on taping either the show, or has a fast connection and is going ot make a high quality tape of the webcast... get in touch with me... we can work something out... which leads me to my next point I said a while ago that anybody who can prove to me that they BOUGHT Long Tall Weekend who wants a CD burned copy of it that I would make you a copy... I would like to stand by this... so I will be working out some system by which to do this... the main point being I don't want to accidentally send a free copy to somebody who didn't pay for the mp3s... I must ask a question, that as far as I know has never been asked yet, or at least durring the time that I have been on the list. What is everybody's favorite comic book (not strip) or comic book artist? For me: Mainstream: The Maxx by Sam Keith Indie: Strangers In Paradise by Terry Moore Manga: Oh My Goddess (Can't remember the name of the artist/author off the top of my head, neither can I spell it very well) Underground: Hothead Paison Homicidal Lesbian Terrorist Mysterio Gal (I am the God of fudge) "This iron horse only goes around and around a man made duck pond in dummyland now!" --Crosley Bendix MST3K#88182 ICQ#9585405 gray42@juno.com, send attachments to mr_realgal@yahoo.com http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Coffeehouse/4871 The Official Project Omicrom website: www.geocities.com/SoHo/Square/9007 ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. Somehow I'm guessing this might turn out to be a "rarities" set of some kind. If they're *ever* going to play things like Nightgown of the Sullen Moon, It's Not My Birthday, and such, it would be at this show. Call it "Giant-Con." :) (I have a feeling we definitely won't hear much of the "big 3" anyway) That said, I'm going to try very hard to be there, but getting to NYC isn't easy for me, since I'm very far away from it. My best bet would be to take my car somewhere where other fans will be and leave it and take a train in. This means I'll need some help. :) I also won't be able to cash in the postcard early, since I don't live in New York. And I'm worried the show might "sell out." ("free out?") So, what I'm wondering is, does anyone have crash space for me, and can anyone pick up tickets for me?
