Don't miss this opportunity to see this "Maestro of the Low End" as he adds his unique flavor to the beverage that is TMBG. I have compared the versions on Misc T, Then, the Pink : Album CD, the US Pink Album vinyl, the Australian Pink Album vinyl, the UK : 7" single and the US 12" single and I can't hear a blind bit of difference : between any of them. Can someone tell me the specific difference (if it : exists) between the single and album versions of DLS? Listen really closely to the drum tracks. There is some difference in the drum mixing, with the album version having a bit more force to the fake toms. +OAT Anybody going to the 9:30 Club show on the fifteenth? I'd like to meet some of y'all. Matt? I think I'm gonna wear my "Death to the Pixies" T-shirt, so I'll be pretty easy to spot. +OATII It's the "Big Blue Dog Album" for future reference. I got just as mad when I saw it say something like that in Yahoo! News. However, here's the catch. It is the first album ever available for download at ANY music retailer online. See, TMBG was only on Emusic.com. Except, that makes you wonder...why wasn't TMBG so widely publicized for making history that was, in some cases, even more relevant? --and by the way, if I'm not mistaken, his album is available on CD too. Date: Mon, 27 Sep 1999 22:22:22 MDT Ok, the Vegas show at the Hard Rock was by far the best GIANTS show I've ever seen! It was Definately worth my 14 hour drive from Northern Colorado! I was in the front row on Flans' side, and he was absolutely energized through the entire show and two encores! (yes, the Istanbul chant is still going strong) I also had the immense pleasure of touching 'the guitar'; also had the extreme pleasure of having Linnell move over and stand directly above me while he was playing the accordian...he was soooo close (we're talking 6 inches here) I could have touched his feet (but I didn't because that probably would've disturbed him), and I absolutely swear he smiled at me...John Linnell SMILED...at ME!! AHHHH! I'm still in a daze!! As if that wasn't enough, after the show I had a great chat with Tom from You Were Spiraling, and acquired the CD, which is very good--BUY IT. And Rebecca (from this list) will probably have more interesting stories to share about YWS within a few days (share Becca, share!)! And to top it all off, I got to meet some of the super cool members on this list, Mr. Dexter Flansburgh and Mr. eRiCh....we will meet again in the future, I'm sure! So, that's all from TMBG update central...how are the Cali shows going? will provide more updates when THEY hit Colorado!
