Do you have web access? If so, I'd suggest looking at . It's a site devoted to TMBG news, and, unlike tmbg.com, it's actually updated fairly often. You can also subscribe to the Info Club; there's an e-mail address at tmbg.com. As for recent and upcoming Things Giant: TMBG have made two appearances on "Brave New World," and are scheduled to make more. You've probably read about that show on this list. _Long Tall Weekend_, an MP3-only TMBG album, has been released at emusic.com. The children's album is probably going to come out late this year or early in 2000. John Linnell's _State Songs_ is due to be released around October. The next TMBG studio album will probably be out sometime next year. Well, really, although "Brave New World" itself is educational, neither of the songs that They have performed on it could really be considered educational music. -- Yours 'til my head falls off Nathan DinnerBell@tmbg.org http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Corridor/5447/ _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Here's the straight dope on hidden tracks: "Token Back To Brooklyn," the hidden track on _It's Fun To Steal_, and the Planet of the Apes tracks are all real. TMBG never did a song called "Spitting Contest," for a hidden track or otherwise. At one point, Dexter Flansburgh suggested that a song called "Spitting Contest" from Sifl and Ollie reminded him of TMBG. Someone (I think it was Sarah LimeZinger) then started the rumour that TMBG had a song called "Spitting Contest," and some people actually believed it. The joke is occasionally revived when someone mentions hidden tracks. "Careless Santa" isn't a hidden track. It's in a very obvious position (track ten, I think) on _Unsupervised_. >2. Message-ID: <19990807.202325.3566.0.TMBgirl@juno.com> Hey HEy kiddies... real quick note about our favorite mike viola. I got to my dorms to hear some pretty damn familiar music coming from the room across the hall... anyways... this guy alan is blasting some candy butchers and then when i start talking to him he tells me that his best friend's mother is the candy butchers new manager. did ya follow that? anyways, so he had a copy of their soon to be released (august 31st everywhere) album, Fall In Place. i listened to it. it's a bit different for the candy butchers but it's definately cool... i guess if i had to say why it's different... just that it's mellower, calmer, and on the whole less "pop-punk" and now into the "pop" category. ya know, whatever floats your boat. take it easy, JOrdaN http://www2.netcom.com/~arnot/joda/bootlegs.html ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it. They said they recorded it inbetween Pink and Lincoln but Bar-None refused to release it.(And before any rumors start, they *were* just kidding.:->) I think they actually did make up a song called that, but it was just something they were improvising on stage, not anything they were going to release. ------------------------------ Message-ID: <19990808042820.39545.qmail@hotmail.com> From: "Nathan Mulac DeHoff" Subject: Re: TMBG: Insect Hospital Date: Sat, 07 Aug 1999 21:28:19 PDT Mark D. Actually, I found a used copy of _Insect Hospital_ in a music store the other day, along with a copy of Weird Al's _Me, Myself, and I_. I think my favourite track is "All Your Friends Hate You," but "Spitting Contest" is pretty cool, too. Oh, and don't forget "Careless Santa"! I'm still trying to find a copy of _Matt's Life Savings_, though. Seriously, though, I think that tmbg.org says that _Insect Hospital_ was a working title for _Severe Tire Damage_. -- Yours 'til my head falls off Nathan DinnerBell@tmbg.org http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Corridor/5447/ _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web.
