I'd play it safe and get 'em online. Just make sure you select the option that says you'll pick up the tickets at the will call window, so they don't try to mail them to you. When you come to the Bowery Ballroom, bring the same credit card that you used to pay for the tickets. This is how I got my tickets for last night's show. I figure either they crammed all the nostalgia into one show, or we'll get more oldies tomorrow night, too... Spin the Dial worked amazingly well, despite a large amount of news on at 12:05am. (I think Flansburgh hasn't mastered the concept of "FM") but there was an item about Microsoft losing a huge amount of money that got a big cheer out of the audience. :) then they found Walk on the Wild Side and that was a lot of fun, although for some reason, after the verses, I kept expecting them to break into Dancing Queen... :) some more spinning turned up Jailhouse rock, which Linnell played quite well on the piano, but Flans couldn't remember any of the words to. from where I was, the vocals were all a bit hard to hear, but all in all, it was a good mix. the horns were incredible and a lot of fun to watch, too. I think the only really disappointing thing was that they didn't seem to say all that much in between songs. At times it almost seemed like they were rushing through the set... although it did take them nearly two hours to get through the whole thing, so... I guess I'll put spoiler space in tomorrow's post, since it's probably going to be the same setlist that gets used next Friday. :) -- lawrence solomon * http://www.fruhead.com/users/zaph * zaph@fruhead.com "You knew it was true, when I held you, there were no secrets.
