You said in your research that you found he was a member of a band called Mono Puff. That is true. Mono Puff is just a side project that he used to do when he wasn't working with They Might Be Giants. Mono Puff doesn't do much anymore. John is a really great singer/songwriter/guitarist. I highly reccomend you check out anything by Mono Puff or They Might Be Giants (also look for material by his musical colleague, John Linnell). It's all very good stuff. John, although he may not be very popular, is a very beautiful person. I'm a guy and am not one to really judge fellow males on looks, but he's a hansome dude. John's worked hard in the music industry for almost 20 years now. They Might Be Giants have helped to make indie rock what it is today - a safe haven for good music. Having been both an indie and major label band, going through numerous bandmates, and having released several brilliant albums, John and They Might Be Giants are rock veterans.
