It's been driving me nuts for the longest time. I only actually saw it once (the Janeane Garofalo episode), but I thought any show that would give TMBG props deserved to be remembered. Back when the show aired was also back in the days when I actually watched MTV. That was back before they discovered that they could saqueeze all the day's videos into one timy slot called TRL (not to mention that they could stop playing anything good). I was in college at tbe time, in a small town with no real radio stations and I was able to keep up with new music by watching MTV. Of course, it was still a corporate wasteland back then, but it was Woodstock compared to what it has become now. I don't even see a real reason to continue calling it Music Television anymore, unless you count having music playing in the background of your twelve identical shows as "music" television. If that is the case, then Fox is as MTV as MTV is now that it has Malcolm in the Middle. But enough of my gripes against MTV. I'll tear down VH1 next if anyone wants me to...
