Well, that's not ENTIRELY true. Every album had a few guest performers, in addition to the two Johns. John Henry was the first TMBG album to use a full band on pretty much every track, though. >Although, if you have factory showroom >or severe tire damage I can't explain it that easily. Factory Showroom uses the full band on most tracks, but the style is really quite different from that on John Henry. Whether this is due to the different musicians on the two albums, or simply to the fact that most of the songs are of a different sort (probably closer to the stuff on the earlier albums in terms of the mood, if not necessarily in how they're executed), I don't really know. Severe Tire Damage is live stuff, and that's bound to sound different from studio tracks, regardless of how much of a band there is. -- Eat your broccoli, Nathan DinnerBell@tmbg.org http://www.geocities.com/fablesto/ _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. OK, so I found out about Moxy Fruvous through this list, right? Right. So, naturally, they rock. But what I wanna know is this: how come nobody told me Moxy played with Dan Bern?! While perusing an unnamed software source of MP3 downloads (looking for music I already own on CD, of course), I found a truly delightful live version of "Jerusalem" featuring Mr. Bern accompanied by the aforementioned Fruvous. If you don't know it, "Jerusalem" is the song wherein Dan describes how hard it is being the messiah and waiting to tell everyone about it. Anyway, can anyone tell me where I might (ahem) legally obtain a copy of a mechanical recording of this and other wonderous songs of Dan Bern and/or Moxy Fruvous playing together and/or separately from the same show and/or tour? Thanks! PZ ------------------------------ Message-Id: Date: Thu, 14 Sep 2000 12:45:49 -0700 From: "Pzickler" Subject: TMBG: Re: tmbg-list Digest #33-14 Destin wrote: > >Me? I ordered about $60 worth of stuff for Christmas last year, and none of it came. I called (I don't remember what number) and they said they hadn't received my money, but when the bank statement came, it said the check had been cashed. Everything worked out, but it was a nightmare. Oh well. Good merchandise deserves patience, I guess. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. I didn't know there was a snowman on They'll Need A Crane. Oh well it's an honest mistake and one I'll probably make soon for pointing it out like that. I've had problems in the past where orders were never received or it just took 9-12 weeks to get the stuff to me. I recently ordered a bunch of stuff from the website and it came in less than a week. So I would say unless you live on the exact opposite side of the world as NY you have a problem. I would give it another week or two before I said anything. I'm not 100% positive about this but I think you can email OperatorDot@aol.com I think someone on this list knows for sure if that's it or nor.
