Did anyone here catch the They interview on the NPR show This American Life on Saturday? I did, but a friend of mine caught the tail end of it and said it was awesome. He said they talked about the strange answering machine/conference call/idiot woman message track that's on Misc. T. From looking at the website: http://www.thisamericanlife.org/ It looks like it's part of a series on telephone-related stuff. Fortunately, the Malcolm in the Middle soundtrack comes out in abou half that time. >From: Jason Fickley >Reply-To: Jason Fickley >To: tmbg-list@tmbg.org >Subject: TMBG: Update >Date: Mon, 04 Sep 2000 13:03:34 -0400 > >Hi, > >I had to leave the list several months ago, if anyone could give me an >update of any TMBG-related news (if there is any) from over the summer, I'd >greatly appreciate it. > >--Jason-- _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Date: Mon, 4 Sep 2000 15:02:51 -0500 Organization: Prodigy Internet Well, last night I was driving home from a friend's house and I, for some reason, had this strange feeling to turn off my c.d. player and turn on the radio and right when I did I heard John Linnell talking about number 13 on Misc.T. I was so confused at first, hearing them talking on the radio without me expecting it. I couldn't believe that I happened to turn it on at that moment in time. Anyway the point is This American Life on NPR was having a segment on the importance and intrigue of answering machines and the Johns were there to talk about dial-a-song and the dark humor they use in their songs. I don't know how long it was in its entirety but I heard about ten minutes. It could have also been a rebroadcast because they play sick of this american life from the cd and thank TMBG for writing the song. Does anyone know if that show would be on the web somewhere? nick ------------------------------ Message-ID: <000d01c016ac$78f238a0$7acffe3f@oemcomputer> From: "PAT ACQUISTO" Subject: TMBG: TMBG on NPR Date: Mon, 4 Sep 2000 15:12:35 -0500 Organization: Prodigy Internet I found out that This American Life that was on yesterday was a brand new interview with Them. You can go to www.thislife.org next week to hear the show in real audio. nick ------------------------------ From: "Nathan Mulac DeHoff" Subject: Re: TMBG: Hello?????
