There's only 3 TMBG songs on the MitM soundtrack?! This is very disappointing. What's the rest of it consist of? Citizen King? Classic rock like that "Stuck in the Middle with You"? Blahhhhh! Or when you say "two other previously unreleased songs" songs do you mean that the CD is all TMBG song, only three of which haven't been released before? -B O N G O ------------------------------ Message-Id: Date: Wed, 06 Sep 2000 07:58:49 -0700 From: "Spencer Owen" Subject: Re: TMBG: MitM Soundtrack: Nov. 7th Not only is "Cyclops Rock" reportedly one of the tracks, but either that track or the other (not sure which, thanks to a confusing Spin article) features a collaboration with M. Doughty, formerly of Soul Coughing and currently of the solo touring circuit. - Spencer [Attachment omitted, unknown MIME type or encoding (text/html)] According to MTV, that's three songs total by TMBG, the rest are other bands. TMBG songs will be Boss of Me, perhaps Cyclops Rock (the M. Doughty version?), and another. So it'll basically be a random compilation of stuff that has mostly nothing to do with the show, except Frankie Muniz will probably be on the cover. I bet it doesn't even include Citizen King or Stuck in the Middle... those would actually make sense. Hey, when I first heard about the soundtrack, I figured it'd have Boss of Me, Spiraling Shape, Pencil Rain, and WDTSS, and that'd be it. At least we're getting two other new songs (Cyclops Rock being... well, technically a new release)... There are going to be FOUR songs on the album, not three. One of the four songs is "Boss of Me." Another, supposedly, is a new version of "Cyclops Rock" sung with Soul Coughing's M. Doughty. Then there are TWO more songs, that will be brand new. Add it all up, and that's four. The other bands on the album only get one song each, so we lucked out. Plus no one's ever heard of any of the bands, so for once, TMBG will be the best-known name on a compilation album. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. (No offense meant.) From the site: "Although most of the acts will only serve up one cut each, They Might Be Giants will deliver three previously unreleased tunes, including the show's theme song, "Boss Of Me."" The keyword is "including," which I assume indicates that it would be one of the previously unreleased tunes. It is previously unreleased after all, despite its appearance on a promo, the mentioning of which promo caused Flansburgh to emit a fairly sarcastic "Woo." So that makes three. *shrug* Spencer.
