He was without a doubt my favorite author, after being introduced to him in the 10th grade through "The Chocoloate War." Cormier died last Thursday, just one month after the publication of his most recent book, "Other Bells for Us to Ring" Strangely, I found myself beginning to read his book "Fade" on November 2nd, the day he died, for no apparent reason. After almost six months without even thinking or hearding his name, I stumbled upon "Fade" as I was searching for a book to read on my class trip. It was not until today that I realized I began reading the book on the same day he died. It was very odd yet at the same time very helpful in helping me make the decision of which author I should write my senior paper on. I love it when things happen for a reason and everything comes together. I don't know why it's called that, because it's really just a weekly list of sometimes useful, but mostly just entertaining web sites. Anyways, this week, they feature a page about the triple-LP Science Songs collection, famous of course for the original "Why Does the Sun Shine?" It was apparently just recently rediscovered, and now all the MP3's are available for the first time, but I don't know if that's true or how long this site has been around. But if you don't know about it already, it's at http://www.acme.com/jef/science_songs/ and it's great. Check it out. And as an irrelevant side note because I really want to scream about it, LITTLE NICKY IS THE WORST MOVIE EVER!!! KILL IT!!! KILL ME!!!!! JUST KILL!!!! Thanks for the directions, Chrissy! Unfortunately I did get a little lost on the way back and I ended up walking around in circles around chinatown and thereabouts until I finally found my way to the subway. I didn't get back to hartford till 6:30 am (the show ended around midnight) but it was definitely worth it! At least now I'm a little more familiar with the route so hopefully I won't get lost next week. They played Fingertips!!!! It was great! ------------------------------ End of tmbg-list Digest #35-11 ******************************
