Scruffy the Cat. Haven't heard anything about them in almost a decade. > The only connection I can make between the 2 bands is that I saw them both > play at Johns Hopkins University. Here's another connection, though post-Scruffy: The lead singer of Scruffy the Cat is Charlie Chesterman, who released a CD as part of the Hello Recoring Club as "Chas and the Motorbikes" (I think that's the title, I'm too lazy to go check the CD, and it's close enough for government work ;-)) Charlie continues to crank out great roots music. I don't know if CDNow or Amazon carries his label, but you can get it from Miles of Music, to be sure (www.milesofmusic.com). I just picked up his latest CD (sorry, I don't remember the title), and it's one of my current faves. - Fred. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Mar 2001 12:06:35 -0800 From: Gale Mead Subject: Re: TMBG: scruffy the cat Message-ID: > > The only connection I can make between the 2 bands is that I saw them both > > play at Johns Hopkins University. I hotlisted you and found the tmbg show in the list and it wouldn't allow me to download it... either way, something that might work better anyway is splitting it into tracks, especially for the benefit of people with slower connections who may not want to spend several hours downloading a single 23MB file... -- lawrence solomon * http://www.fruhead.com/users/zaph * zaph@fruhead.com "I stole your hat and I hanged your cat, so tell me how you love me now." The band only played seven songs (Older / Boss of Me / Ana Ng / She's Actual Size / Particle Man / I Wanna Be Sedated / New York City), but afterwards They signed autographs and posed for photos! I got them to sign my Boss of Me Sheet Music, Boss of Me single and the Sapphire Bullets name conversion table.. I actually got them to sign with their SP aliases. I also had John F. sign my FLANS guitar pick. Near the end someone requested a cover, and They decided on the Ramone's "I Wanna Be Sedated". They filmed some of it for what they said is a TMBG documentary with the working title of, "Gigantic". I think that I and a bunch of my friend were filmed, I wonder if we will show up in that.
