The STD deal was a one shot thing. Now we are told that they have an actual long-term commitment from Restless (which would lead me to believe that the promise of a summer '01 release is more credible). Does anyone here know any details of that deal (number of records, years, whatever)? Maybe that this >announcement is being made by a record label which, supposedly, has signed >TMBG is a sign that the record actually will come out sometime in the next >six months. That's a good point. It doesn't necessarily mean anything, though, since record companies have been known to delay releases. Mono Puff's It's Fun To Steal album comes to mind; it ended up being released about a month after the original release date. Then again, this new TMBG studio album doesn't have an actual release date, just "summer," so the case isn't exactly the same. Still, album release dates can be quite unreliable at times, even if they DO come from the record company itself. >However, I wouldn't be surprised to find the same 7 TMBG albums sitting in >my CD rack next Fall. Just hope for the best! I will.
