I think it's a fusion of the ideas of the blue album and the music of
pinkerton, or perhaps I'm off my nut....
But anyhoo I have heard that said, check out the sumo-full video for "Hash

Hello again,
Weezer rocks! I just downloaded the new album today (I plan to buy it tomorrow,
don't worry!) and just had to let everyone know how much it rocks.
It is a bit short, 28:20 or so, but it rocks hard! A complete departure from
the departure that was pinkerton and a return to the "blue album" sound. Does
that make sense?...
Anyway, if you're a weezer fan, make sure to buy the cd. it really does rock!

This is a mindbogglingly interesting question, & one that I'm amazed I never
wondered myself. Of course, I immediately started trying to come up with all
the lyrics in Their entire repertoire, in order to start the search and
analysis, but this being 9:45 am on a work day, that is not a good plan. So if
anyone with the entire TMBG catalog in their cerebral RAM comes up with a
winner, I would be tickled to hear it.
I don't see how They couldn't be Hitchhiker-heads. Just not possible.
Especially since, like me, they are of an age to have been 20ish and stoned when
it first came out. Ahhh, those were the days....

I've been wanting to post something about this, so I'll take this little
opening after the Weezer post for something not entirely relevant. Just in case
anyone doesn't know, Douglas Adams, author of the massively successful
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book series, passed away last Friday of a heart
attack at age 49. My question is this: Have TMBG ever mentioned Adams or his
work? It seems like it would be completely bizarre of them not to. The
Hitchhiker's Guide is just about the ultimate test for a satiric mind and
capacity for abstract philosophy. The top of the list of "Have you read
it?" books, at least in my experience, and it's right along the lines of
the Johns' tastes, not to mention the fact that it and TMBG are the two most
likely things to be found on some bored cubible-worker's interest list on their
cheap Geocities homepages. So how 'bout it? Anyone know of any references by
either John to this completely hoopy frood of a guy?
Coincidentally, I do remember on his
official website's forum, there were lots of people suggesting TMBG for the
soundtrack of the film adaptation that may or may not still come out. Once he
replied to someone and said TMBG would be a good pick. My one Adams encounter is
that he yelled at me for attempting to start a Mac-IBM riot. Not something to be
especially proud of, but hey, it's a little better than my Flans experience
which consisted of me saying...oh, yeah...nothing.

I can speak for our friend and say that not only
does it Rock, it also ROX. 5 years was worth the
wait, even if the album only clocks in at 10
songs/28 minutes. Quality not quantity!

Another cool thing about this CD are tbe Mystery Science Theater bots hidden in the CD sleeve. I'd have never noticed it except they credit Best Brains in the liner notes.

Since Kay's copy 'n' paste finger was sprained at the time she made
her post (he! he!) the link was for the following ebay auction:
>>"VERY RARE Brazil Promo CD with a great remix of "S-e-x-x-y" by the
might be giants (remixed by todd terry) and the Video Mix of Morcheeba's
"Tape loop".
For full tracklist, please see the scan. This CD is OFFICIAL, NOT A
CD-R, made by WEA Brazil to promote these songs to clubs and radios.
Brazilian Promo
CDs are incredibly hard to find, because they are produced in very small
quantities. IF you're a Morcheeba or TMBG fan (or Me'shell
Ndegiocello...) this is a
fabulous addition to your collection. CD and package in MINT condition.
Very hard to find and long out of print. E-mail me anytime with
questions. Payment
MUST be sent in US CASH or WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER (very safe!) I
can't accept anything else, please don't insist. Please add for shipping
and handling: US$10 anywhere in the world. Don't bid if you don't agree
with this. Thanks and good luck! "<<
I'm not sure which S-E-X-X-Y remix this is. If its not from the
S-E-X-X-Y CD-5. Maybe its the one that was released on vinyl only. As
for the "This is...odd" subject line, I would say it IS odd that the
item is from Brazil. TMBG is not that well know in Brazil. (Maybe the
other artists on the CD are though.) We used to have a listee in Brazil
but I think he might have been a US student studying abroad. I'll be
looking for this track soon at twistid near me.
