There was another XTC project, I believe the tentative title was "Battle of the Bubblegum Bands". The stuff on the Andy Partridge Hello EP was originally going to be on it. -scratch ------------------------------ Date: 15 Aug 2001 19:05:12 -0000 From: ctyner@clemson.edu Subject: Re: TMBG: Re: August unltd. It predates the Bubblegum album by quite a while, turning up as early as 1991 on "Windowbox" (crediting the Dukes, actually). I've never heard a tentative title for the Bubblegum album. "Battle of..." would seem to go against the intended purpose of the project, which was to be a fake sampler for a long-defunct record label whose catalog was acquired by Virgin... You're right about It's Snowing Angels and I wasn't sure about Prince of Orange, but I was pretty sure Some Lovely was also from that project. > I've never heard a tentative title for the Bubblegum album. "What about Careless Santa?" - that phrase has been a running joke since several years ago when a listie posted the track listing of a homemade TMBG Xmas tape, including Careless Santa by Mono Puff, and another listie posted, "What about Careless Santa?" Other listies poked fun by posting their own "What about Careless Santa?" posts, and it kinda snowballed from there. -Jay ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Aug 2001 21:32:50 From: "John Ferrer" Subject: TMBG: Delicious Tenenbaum Goodness Message-ID: Yahoo is featuring the exclusive premiere of the Royal Tenenbaums trailer at http://movies.yahoo.com/movies/feature/royaltenenbaums.html . Message-ID: <20010815.173225.-827349.0.TOMACQUISTO@juno.com> So TMBG are playing at Pop's in Sauget, IL. That's going to be very odd. Pop's is primarily a heavy metal concert venue about 2 minutes from East St. Louis (bonafide shittiest place on earth, I've had my car hijacked at gunpoint there, personally). It's also about 5 minutes from St. Louis, which I assume is where it will draw most of it's crowd. Pop's is amongst a large strand of strip clubs, casinos, and gay bars and I can't wait to hear the Johns' spout off comments at the show in October. Oh, yeah, I believe Megadeth is playing there a couple days before also. This should be fun. nick ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Aug 2001 19:07:18 EDT From: CallMeDoctorWorm@aol.com Subject: Re: TMBG: Re: GUH-roovy thiiiiinnngg Message-ID: In a message dated 8/15/01 9:46:37 AM Eastern Daylight Time, polariswm@hotmail.com writes: > > anything........purple monkey dishwasher. > > spaghetti fly.
