I thought they were through playing TMBG songs during the show since last season we only heard about two seconds of robot parade, but i guess i was wrong. And on a personal note i'm showing a short film i shot tomorrow in Chicago at the Fireside Bowl at 8 pm. Everyone in the Chicago area should attend. There's live bands and tons of short movies. I was kind of hoping against hope that they'd end the whole thing (if this is indeed the end) with something big, but, alas, such was not the case. Looks like they scraped the bottom of the barrel for this, which is odd, considering how much great stuff they haven't given us. >I hate to complain >all the way to the end, but seriously, someone joked about them giving us >the Holidayland tracks, and by god, they actually did. They seem to be freebies, too, at least according to the e-mail from Flans. Now there isn't anything on Holidayland that hasn't been released through eMusic, except for "Careless Santa," and I'm sure everyone already has that. >Nothing original >whatsoever, though there is a Spin the Dial live medley. Actually, "Lines Upon A Tranquil Brow" hasn't been released before, has it? -- May the light shine upon thee, Nathan DinnerBell@tmbg.org http://www.geocities.com/fablesto/ _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------------------------------ Message-ID: <3C1E1D59.35248F3F@st.com> Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2001 09:29:13 -0700 From: Russ Josephson Organization: STMicroelectronics, Inc Subject: Re: TMBG: Lines Upon a Tranquil Brow Hello Nicholas, "Lines upon a Tranquil Brow" was written by the late, great cartoonist Walt Kelly. It comes from an album called "Songs of the Pogo". Dr. Demento has played the original version on his show several times, so I sent him a tape of the TMBG cover--I don't think he ever played it though. TMBG played it at a Seattle Wherehouse instore in 1995 and opened the 07/30/98 Hatch Shell concert with it. I have both on video.
