Of course, we don't know the tracklist yet, but we probably won't get a lot of stuff we already have for the simple reason that Elektra owns it (unless this is being done in collaboration with Elektra, which I doubt). I think boxed sets are often rip-offs (too little new material to make them worthwhile to hardcore fans, and too expensive for casual fans), but this will hopefully be an exception. -- May the light shine upon thee, Nathan DinnerBell@tmbg.org http://www.geocities.com/fablesto/ _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com From owner-tmbg-list@tmbg.org Wed Jan 30 01:06:27 2002 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by ussenterprise.ufp.org (8.11.1/8.11.1) id g0U66Rd51017 for tmbg-list-outgoing; Wed, 30 Jan 2002 01:06:27 -0500 (EST) (envelope-from owner-tmbg-list@tmbg.org) Received: from c011.snv.cp.net (c011-h001.c011.snv.cp.net [209.228.34.214]) by ussenterprise.ufp.org (8.11.1/8.11.1) with SMTP id g0U66RJ51009 for ; Wed, 30 Jan 2002 01:06:27 -0500 (EST) (envelope-from bryce@tmbg.org) Received: (cpmta 29029 invoked from network); 29 Jan 2002 22:06:20 -0800 Received: from 138.88.45.218 (HELO docs1) by smtp.namezero.com (209.228.34.214) with SMTP; 29 Jan 2002 22:06:20 -0800 X-Sent: 30 Jan 2002 06:06:20 GMT Message-ID: <002101c1a954$02d0f440$8d1410ac@visualnetworks.com> From: "Bryce" To: Subject: Re: TMBG: Dial-a-Song compilation boxed set Date: Wed, 30 Jan 2002 01:04:42 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 5.00.2314.1300 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V5.00.2314.1300 Sender: owner-tmbg-list@tmbg.org Precedence: bulk Reply-To: "Bryce" Nathan Mulac DeHoff : > Yeah, if this is true, it's a good thing. Wait a minute, though, TMBG Unlimited included demos of Particle Man and Spy, and numerous live recordings of "Elektra songs." Also, it was Restless who released Then: The Earlier Years, and it contained that demo of Which Describes How You're Feeling. I think Elektra owns a particular set of recordings, but not the songs in general. Dial-a-Song versions and demos (that are sufficiently different from the released version) would be up for grabs, I would expect.
