I'll post some snapshots on my web page soon. I only wish that Conan would have left some time to chat with John & John about their latest escapades. But it sounds like they were invited on to perform at the last minute, given the short notice we received. So I'm grateful for that. As for the choice of song--well I had a hard time understanding Flansburg on "Robot Parade". I think a better number would have been "4 of 2", which is one of my favorite unreleased song to make it onto the children's album. Russ P.S. The dead guy money scam is really picking up lately. I recently received one in a letter at work--without a stamp! P.P.S. I'd love to see the concert with Howard Jones and TMBG together! Two of my favorite artists. It could only be made better by adding Joe Jackson. P.P.P.S. When are TMBG going to tour the west? They haven't been to Colorado since 1999. I'm dying to hear a "Mink Car" show. (BTW, I _LOVE_ mink car. True, "4 of 2" may have been more audience-friendly, but "Robot Parade" may be a better example of the unique nature of this project; also, Linnell has sung the two previous songs they have performed on Conan ("Older" and "Man, It's So Loud In Here,") so it was Flansy's turn. I think "John Lee Supertaster" would've been a good choice, too! Kay [Attachment omitted, unknown MIME type or encoding (text/html)] yea...I really like 4 of 2 as well!!!! It was sooo cute when they did it live the last two times i saw them...and Linnell rubbed his eyes on the part where he talks about getting sleepy!! awwww....i love them! ~Miranda On Fri, 10 May 2002 08:10:27 -0600 Russ Josephson writes: > Hi, > > I did stay up to tape this fascinating performance. > I'll post some snapshots on my web page soon. > > I only wish that Conan would have left some time to chat > with John & John about their latest escapades. > But it sounds like they were invited on to perform at the last > minute, given the short notice we received. Good point, but considering the booking was last-minute, I'd imagine the rest of the band was busy. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see them on again for John Lee Supertaster or 4 of 2 when the release date is closer. -john From owner-tmbg-list@tmbg.org Fri May 10 19:16:53 2002 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by ussenterprise.ufp.org (8.11.1/8.11.1) id g4ANGrP45226 for tmbg-list-outgoing; Fri, 10 May 2002 19:16:53 -0400 (EDT) (envelope-from owner-tmbg-list@tmbg.org) Received: (from bicknell@localhost) by ussenterprise.ufp.org (8.11.1/8.11.1) id g4ANGqN45217; Fri, 10 May 2002 19:16:52 -0400 (EDT) (envelope-from bicknell) Date: Fri, 10 May 2002 19:16:52 -0400 From: Leo Bicknell To: tmbg-list@tmbg.org, alt-music-tmbg@tmbg.org Subject: TMBG: news.tmbg.org discontinued Message-ID: <20020510231652.GA45132@ussenterprise.ufp.org> Mail-Followup-To: tmbg-list@tmbg.org, alt-music-tmbg@tmbg.org Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Organization: United Federation of Planets Sender: owner-tmbg-list@tmbg.org Precedence: bulk Reply-To: Leo Bicknell I am currently planning to decommission news.tmbg.org.
