This song is a little obscure, which is strange since the imagery is quite easily explainable.

"Just a full day's drive away" is a joking expression. That's a long drive, but is made to sound insignificant.

The first verse simply indicates the necessity of driving, rather than other possible modes of travel.

The second verse confuses the terminology of clocks with that of car dials. It means that the driver is traveling at 120 (MPH? Km/h?), and is nearly out of gasoline.

Then we have the chorus. Nyquil, for those who don't know, is a cough/cold medicine. It contains alcohol, and makes one extremely drowsy.

So, what about the meaning of the song? It could be any of several things. The singer could be the Nyquil Driver himself, or could be addressing him. Neither way seems to shed much light on the song's meaning. It has been suggested that a Nyquil Driver is a slow driver (hence "get outta my way"), due to the drowsy effects of the syrup. A Nyquil Driver could also be a drunk driver, if one considers the alcohol content of the medicine.

A somewhat loftier interpretation is that driving is a metaphor for life, something you can't escape (by flying or walking). The speaker is driving quickly, but is nearly out of fuel-- near death? The chorus could possibly refer to pushing away the constraints of childhood.
