TM>Williams (who is also a pretty good musician and i highly recommend her)
TM>TMBG played The Guitar and No one knows my plan (with a breath stopping
TM>performance i might add).

They also played Istanbul Not Constantinople. I really like that song
now that I saw Them play it. Does anyone have a updated tour schedule,
or aren't they touring now? I've been behind on this stuff since the
accident. It wasn't my fault, that damn jar of pickles came outta no
where.

TM>my apologies to all....i have been re-informed that it was indeed an epis

NO! No mistakes! I was so amazed when I heard They Might Be Giants on
Tiny Toons. Istanbul and Particle Man. Unfortunately, when they did
Particle Man, they kinda got it confused. Particle Man got the shaft
the whole time.

TM>well, to all the people who are into this band making crup, I can play a

At least you could try to be original and steal someone who we don't
know's stuff. I can play the skin flute. When I start, I count
off..."1, 2, 1, 2, 3, WANK!" You should hear me wank my skin flute to
Don't Lets Start. It rocks!

TM>anyhoo... excuse my ignorance masked as newness: I don't know what I'm
TM>doing really, but I'm sure you are all smart enough to see that.

Really? I didn't notice. I guess that's just my newcomer ignorance
coming out.

TM>guess I need to talk about the band to make this relevant, here goes:

Me too...

TM>	TMBG are the shiznit. They're all that. And I bet they're

Shiznit indeed! I think They'd make better wankers.

TM>the index for names and the name John Linnell caught my eye. It turns ou

TM>Interesting, huh? :)

Yeppers, pretty interesting. Now you should find out if that's his
grandfather. I think I remember something about John Linnell III, but
I could be wrong (probably).

alright, for all of you who are still confused about channel one.. it's
nothing REALLY special.. it's just a nationwide news program, hosted by
mostly 17 to 20 (i think) year old "kids".. i don't believe it can be
watched by the average tv watching person, because it has to come to each
school via a special satalite dish that all schools that recieve the
program have.. it comes on EVERY day and usually runs for about 12
minutes.. very informative actually, and i find it to me more
professionally done than most shows run by adults.. if possible, i'll get a
date when they might run the song and maybe you could all drop by a school
and watch it live.. (it is also a live show) but that's up to you.. i'm

This ain't hate list, it's just a statement of disbelief.

Ok, haven't really heard the Rentals so don't know how that'd sound.
>

I don't know if I could see Primus do this song, doesn't seem their style
if I thought about it, I might be able to see them do another song possibly.

Don't think i could see Cracker doing any TMBG song.

This would be interesting...

Yah, they'd probably do a good job of it, in their style, course I'm not
much of a fan of Rancid
>
> Nine inch Nails- Where your eyes don't go
This one blew me away a bit, I could never seem NIN doing this song in
a million years.
>

Again, another one in total disbelief, again not a fan of STP though.
>
> Weezer-Dead
Hmmm this'd be odd but might be interesting to see it done.
>

Don't know if Porno for Pyros is this happy or whatever this song emanates
to do this, but I haven't heard a whole lot of their songs
>
> Tom Waites-Turn around
This'd be really weird but I think Tom would do any song were he given
the chance in his own weird way

Rather odd choice but then again I don't know who I'd have playing these
songs either.
As far as fitting together I think the Rancid-Stomp Box connection is
best made.

I was just thinking about various bands the other day and proceeded to
think about TMBG. I also remember a short thread on here once where people
were talking about one of the Johns doing more of the work or one of them
being the "ring-leader" of the group and the other was a side show act type
deal. That got me to thinking just how much each John contributes to TMBG.
Neither one really contributes more, they both sing, they both play the
instruments (although I'd probably say Linnell plays more instruments),
they both write the songs and they both are great up there on stage.
When you think of a lot of other bands, they genrally have 1 or maybe 2
guys that are the great ones that everyone loves and then there are the
other members that don't write songs or just play one instrument and
never sing, etc. TMBG ain't like that, that's what makes em so great, they
can play just about anything (heck Stump the Band is pretty impressive),
they can both sing anything, and they both have wonderfully creative minds.
Now, you might say, Matt, what about Tony Maimone and Brian Doherty? They
only play their one instrument and don't seem to contribute as much. I'd
explain this as they are pretty darn new to the group and had not started
initially with the Giants. This is not to say they aren't part of the band
but give it a little while. Tony plays the bass but he's also played the
yuckalelee (sp?) I believe on Extra Savoir Faire, and Brian has played the
Glockenspiel on the great tune, Shoehorn with Teeth, and I wouldn't be
surprised if I saw them put a pretty good effort into writing the songs
in the future (actually they may be already, I'm not sure who writes
which songs, does anyone know?) This is probably the main reason why I
like this band, they are capable of anything.
You may be thinking, why the heck is Matt writing this? Well I'll tell you
I'm trying to avoid writing these programs!! hehehe
No, really, I just wanted to tell yas how much I think of the Johns.
Glad they're touring again!!!
Matt (who'll hit the decade mark for concerts in January)

Well, this fine day I have two points to make.

	1) for anyone using the word "PEZ" in a sentence, it is all
capitals, never ever lowercase, unless, of course, you really don't give
a howdy dooo about proper PEZ capitalization, in which case, pez is ok.

	2) Nothingman was given the Tape of Life From the House of Blues
from a friend ofours. I don't get TBS, so I was planning on borrowin
gthe tape when he was through with it. When I got the tape, the sorry
