I saw the show when the group opened for Them in Atlanta, and they girls did the tune with Flans, and They also did the tune at the show. It was pretty cool. I kinda always thought that it might have been written with Flans in mind, since they both did it and it was about meeting a dude at a show in NYC, and both doing the song, and touring together, but I've become more convinced that it was written about someone else, and Flans just thought it was cool because it was about NYC. Someone else will I'm sure post the name of the girls, but if not, I'm sure I can check a ticket stub for those who may want to know. The name of the band that you saw open for TMBG and sing w/Them is Cub and they are from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. They wrote it in 1995, I believe, and Flans did not even know Cub nor did Cub know Flans when they wrote the song so there's no way they could have had Flans in mind. So unless Cub (the 3 girl band) just happened to write the song about 3 *other* girls in Atlanta (which I highly highly doubt), it is about Cub or one of the gals in Cub or someone they knew, probablly in Canada. And, of course, Cub is no more. I'm leaving for the summer. Anyone who has unfinished business with me(Christy? Adam?) has aroun twelve hours to e-mail me personally about it. I'm departing to sunny(and really smelly and we) India. Maybe I'll meet a buddhist(oops, hermit) in a cave. Until then, remember to never harbor any wishniks.
