I get email from them about some Urban Legend or another. Whether it's the warning to be careful not to sit on needles in theatres or to beware of the "Tuttle Mall" in Columbus b/c a mad killer is always set to strike there. This doesn't have anything to do with TMBG, but as a list we sometimes get these "warnings" and helpful hints. 95% of these things are bogus and we all know it, we just can't prove it. This site: http://www.snopes.com/ helps out a lot. In the last week I've gotten the email about the kidney snatchers 4 times!! So it must be making the rounds again. Smack these people with this site. Sorry for the lack of content, but it's a preventative strike... there was a time when this list got it's fair share of horrific warnings. Personally, I have some mp3s of artits on my computer that I don't have the albums for, but after listening to the mp3s I am encouraged to buy the albums. For example, I have never heard Nurse With Wound, but after seeing that they've worked with Stereolab, I found a site that had some of their stuff on mp3, downloaded it, and found it agreeable, so now I will put Nurse With Wound on my list of bands to buy albums from in the near future. As for the TMBG mp3s, I'd say that is a pretty cheap-ass fan that would download the songs and not buy the albums. Than again in one of the stranger tracks on Then, "The performers are not grinning scarecrows trying to torture and manipulate you." I think there are other scarecrow refrences, but they have escaped me at the moment. ("That's all I can think of, but I'm sure there's something else") Does this have any significance to John(s)? "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God...Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who had made desolations in the earth. He makes wars cease to end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two: He burns the chariots in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge." okay, now here's what you have to do: 1)from the beginning, count 46 words into the psalm. 2)from the end, count backwards 46 words into the psalm. pretty cool, huh? a 46-year old wm shakespeare putting his own name into the bible (in the 46th psalm), the first half of his name 46 words in and the second half 46 words before the end. what a guy. okay, hope you enjoyed that. david wagner (wagner@mindspring.com) [Attachment omitted, unknown MIME type or encoding (text/html)] ------------------------------ End of tmbg-list Digest #12-24 ******************************
