I'm talking about the inconsistent volume levels and the long silences before and after many of the tracks. Yes, I could fix them with a sound editing program but after paying $10 a month I shouldn't have to! In the April collection, there is a jarring split second of silence in the middle of "Fibber Island". At first, I thought it occurred on my end so I downloaded it again and its still there. It occurs about 1 minutes into the song. When I caught up with the TMBG list and newsgroup tonight, I thought I'd see tons of complaints. Eventually, I saw Destin then Mike Buffington mention it on the ng. Why are only three of us complaining? Don't you guys care? Aren't you sick of emusic's sloppiness? I'm planning to send a friendly message to emusic detailing all their screw ups but I'm still in the process of trying to get my fleece. I finally got it in March but they sent me the wrong one (it has a plain emusic logo not the TMBG one.) In the past, their customer service people have been helpful and polite so I'm going to give them a chance to fix things. -B O N G O ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Apr 2001 04:05:00 -0400 From: "The Demonic Kangaroo" Subject: TMBG: TMBG with M. I will be in town next weekend and would LOVE to go. I would hate to miss the opportunity to see TMBG live. My company is sending me on a business trip and we have the weekend in NYC. I have never been to NY before so any help would be greatly appreciated! Well... just because I'm not posting to the list and newsgroup doesn't mean I'm not unhappy with it. However... there's an average of about, I would say, one of those jarring encoding mistakes for every 3 emusic albums (I have 25+ full albums from them, so I know this). I don't know what to do about them. I tend not to complain so much about mistakes because I either see a lot more mistakes than other people or admit to seeing them more often. If I spent my time asking people to fix them I'd... have less time to do other things. If you're writing a message, however, send it to me (or the list, or whatever) and I'll change it around a bit and send them one also. If you *really* want action, mail them a paper letter, because usually companies take those very seriously. I never remember to put the letter in the mailbox though, so that's straight out for me. BTW (this should piss everyone off) emusic sent me 2 TMBG fleeces way back in January. Muahaha. :) I gave the other to my girlfriend. Message-ID: So I was thinking about how we all want different things out of TMBG Unlimited like certain songs and stuff and I thought maybe we could all discuss that and I could write Operator Dot and/or Emusic and see if we can get these requests filled for example I think everyone would agree DIAL A SONGS! especially What is everyone staring at? and I'd like all the Brave New World stuff especially the theme! anyone have some thoughts other things they might want. The TMBG crypt section is great but i think it's not being used right. Erich ------------------------------ End of tmbg-list Digest #40-7 *****************************
