Just called up Dial-A-Song (yeah, I love "No Answer" & was hoping to hear it again) and they changed the song from "No Answer" to "Lazy Head & Sleepy Bones" which Flansy says is off of "NO!". As I listened to it, I wasn't sure how I felt about it... I was just wondering if any of you have heard it and if so, what do you think? Yeah, I'll go back to Lurking. When I had a cd burned of all of the Unlimited tracks so far, I had that one put at the end because it just seemed like a good album ender. I LOVE it. It is the perfect song to listen to when you're stressed, and it makes me wish I had kids to play it for when No! comes out. Instead of when I was dead tired and memory shot. [I lay my head on the railroad track Stare at the sky all painted up Your train is gone, won't be coming back] He missed his train, his first method of transportation, and apparently has to be somewhere. Possibly a business meeting. Kind of sets the time period where Trains were just as popular than Planes. [See the constellation ride across the sky No cigar, no lady on his arm Just a guy made of dots and lines Just a guy made of dots and lines] He looks up, probably hearing the roar of the 4 engine prop-job above him and able to tell it's a Connie by the unique tail. Also these lyrics are from TMBG.ORG and they say Ride instead of Right. Some nose art I have seen on any type of plane during WWII and Korean war did have guys smoking cigars with a tattoo of a lady on their arm. I think I have a picture of a B-25 with this from one of the air shows. [Two years ago moved from my town I was looking up past the city lights But the city lights got in my way] Gets frustrated with the lights of the city reducing the view of the stars or anything flying overhead. [See the constellation ride across the sky No cigar, no lady on his arm Just a guy made of dots and lines Just a guy made of dots and lines] As mentioned before [I found my mind on the ground below I was looking down, it was looking back I was in the sky all dressed in black] Ok. I can completely relate. I have rode a Douglas DC-3 and about 30 minutes into the flight I was wishing I could of been on the ground. I think that's what that means by "I found my mind on the ground below." -It is better to be down here you were wishing up there than to be up there wishing you were down here- Anybody who has ever rode an airplane always looks out the window, at the ground below, looking down. And the person is going somewhere that formal attire is appropriate, all dressed in black. I guess a suit. [See the constellation ride across the sky No cigar, no lady on his arm Just a guy made of dots and lines Just a guy made of dots and lines Just a guy made of dots and lines] As mentioned before [Can you hear what I see in the sky? Can you hear what I see in the sky? Can you hear what I see in the sky?] Like I said earlier, those engines are quite loud. And personally I can spot any airplane long before the people I am with can. So they can hear it while I can see it. Can you hear what I see in the sky? I still don't know what that music is at the end of the track though. Almost sounds like WDTSS. It has the same tempo and bass line from what I can hear. It isn't long enough of a sample to tell though. At 02:57 AM 6/14/2001, you wrote: >I'd say that's reaching a bit. I think The Johns, their record label, the fans and all living organisms in our universe would agree that the LTW vocals are much better. But I'm not complaining. When I saw "She Thinks She's Edith Head" listed as one of June's Unltd tracks, I was outraged. Now that I see it has a different vocal track, I'm more calm. They didn't re-write the song. It sounds fantastic. And it sounds less demo-ey like the one on LTW. I also snagged May's Unltd concert and I love the version of The Guitar from the Ritz concert. Except for the part where Flans starts telling everyone to put their hands together. I wish they could re-record that one without that part because I absolutely love that rendition of The Guitar and The Guitar is already my favourite TMBG song. And did you know that Unltd program reaches into all of eMusic.com's collection? I can download anything I want off of their site, as far as I know. I haven't found a track I haven't been able to download yet. And to be honest I just subscribed so I could get the pull-over fleece. This apparently wasn't communicated all that well, since there have been several posts from people who didn't think they would get anything but the TMBG content. I think that access to the emusic catalog is a large part of the price, which could be taken as a good or a bad thing. It's good if you take advantage of the service and download a lot of stuff, because you're making out like a bandit. If you download, say, 100 tracks per month, that averages out to only a dime per song. Pretty sweet deal, at least if you have a way to store the songs. On the other hand, if you don't want anything but the TMBG music, you're being forced to pay for stuff you don't really want. I think setting up a cheaper service that would allow someone to get JUST the TMBG material wouldn't have been a bad idea, but it wasn't done. -- May the light shine upon thee, Nathan DinnerBell@tmbg.org http://www.geocities.com/fablesto/ _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ End of tmbg-list Digest #42-16 ******************************
