I like "Amnesiac" & "Kid A." Though "Ok Computer" is a good Radiohead
album, I think Kid A is great. Of course I also think the new Weezer album
is the best of the three. And the new Placebo album rocks my sorry ass
harder than their other two too.

You know how they sell "singles" online for 99 cents? That's bulls**t. You
know how much that costs them? Seven cents at most. (okok, 7.1). Albums
come with the high price of $1/song because of packaging and greedy record
companies. But you actually get something tangible! Due to my computer, I
feel stupid paying for MP3s, they cant last on here, they just won't! Too
small, too many problems. A CD is more achival. And I haven't decided if
10 cents a song is a little overpricey, because many times bands will GIVE
them to record companies (3 cents, 5 cents). The music industry is greedy.

I will try to withhold rash judgment on the new I'm so Loud in
Here... but...

My god is "I'm your boyfriend now" a great song... I am a disappointed
that this didn't make the cut for Mink Car. I don't know...

I think TMBG unlimited obviously is dangerous because it lets everybody be
an informed judge of whether Mink Car is the best it could be... and I am
sure most of you won't be satisfied... but I figure we are getting all the
material, so if you aren't happy with their album you can make your own...

Just my thoughts on the matter... its like... TMBG is changing the way
they are going with their albums it seems a bit... we will see how it
goes... but I am very happy that this song saw the light of the day if it
isn't making it on the album

Anyhow as part of the National Cares campaign I was at a school in Deptford painting a room with a whole lot of other volunteers yesterday.

So we had the radio on and tuned to XFM which is the rock station for London and they played MITM twice during the day! Does anyone know if it is about to be released as a single in the UK? Would be good if it was a hit and they started touring in the UK on the back of a hit single....

As an aside has the second series of West Wing been shown in the USA yet. The first series (with the shooting cliffhanger) finished here last night.

Hello all,

I have a couple of questions on the unltd version of "It's So loud In
Here". First, is it anything like the demo version that was available
through twistid or Dialasong.com? I really liked that song, i was looking
forward to it being on the new album. Will this new supposedly worse
version be on the album instead?

Well, what you seem to forget is that if it is completely non-profit and in
support of the band, just ask for written permission to use it.

If you explain to them the cause and state that at no time will any money
(except possibly expenses for materials) will ever be charged for the shirt I
think they might be willing to grant you written permission to use the words

Three of the tracks are bootlegs. One of them they even admit they found

Did it occur to anybody that the people who subscribe to TMBGU are not
only major TMBG fans, but the kind of fans that have Internet access?
So, the three live tracks that were found on the Internet are probably
on most, if not all, of the TMBGU subscribers hard drives/CDs already.

Hell, I've got better recordings out of my own collection of the same
exact material that they are putting up on TMBG UnLTD...yet still no
old DAS stuff that EVERYONE would love to have....

TMBG UnLTD is truly unbelievable...they didn't even put up a live show
this month like they've been doing (I haven't listened to any of the
live stuff they've put up in any case) and they must have tons of
them...

I agree with you about this month's offerings. It's pretty weak.

I am still wondering, though, if Mink Car has been confirmed to be on
Mink Car. It seems odd to me that They'd have a real title track this
time.

I also am wondering how many of these "preview tracks" are really
preview tracks and if any have been cut from the final album. It will be
interesting to see the final track list.

i'm seriously hoping that these are all alternative cuts, and that when Mink
Car comes out it'll actually be named "Yes!", contain the rocking versions
we've come to love, and John and John will laugh (laugh, I tell you!) at all
the squabbling we've done over this.

I'd bet that all the songs except I'm Your Boyfriend Now (which they
specifically say didn't make the album, are indeed on the album.

Also, No! is on No! and we've known that for over a year. No! won't be
out until after Mink Car but the album has been done for ages so they
already have one album with a title track...

Let's just hope they don't start a new tradition with this album: "the
5 year cycle":) The next album wouldn't be out until 2006.

Who do they think they are, Nine Inch Nails? :P

There's been no official word on that. Maybe they were gags, maybe they
considered the winning response (What was it, by the way?) but decided not
to use it, or maybe the winner will be the title of the next album. I seem
to recall seeing a comment from Linnell that They would never let the fans
name the album, so I'm kind of leaning toward the idea that the poll was
just for fun.

OK,

Its not that it is techno that irritates me personally... I like that TMBG
figures out all kinds of different kinds of music to explore... and I
agree that the techno beat seems to go with the song...

However, its is a horrible derivative techno song... its not ground
breaking or unique really... its taking a very straight forward techno
style beat and setting the song to it... It takes a song which was really
special and interesting and makes it cookie cutter in a way...

bah... I dunno

I saw TMBG for the 4th time in concert last month at Northeastern
University. I've been a die hard fan since 6th grade and I always try to
get an autograph. After a great concert, TMBG fled off the stage to a back
parking lot. Instead of waiting along side the fence, I cleverly went
around the building to a side street. Just as I get there, Linnel and
Flansburg are driving out of the driveway. Let me add, Flansburg was
driving and Linnel was in the passenger seat. It was a shitty green car.
Anyway, as they were slowly driving by, I was 2 feet from the car and the
windows were rolled down. "Yes!!! Finally my chance," I thought. So, I
politely say, "John! Can i get an autograph?" And Flansburgh replies,
"Noooo, we're MEAN! We're PRICKS! But thanks for coming down to the show!"
And then they drove off. I was really dissappointed. They couldn't give
one stinking autograph! And plus, I was pissed for having paid a WHOPPING
25$ !!! for a damn t-shirt. I've lost respect for TMBG. It seems they have
become a sell-out.

Message-ID: <3B219AF7.61CBA94A@pacificnet.net>

Its weird but the first couple of times I read the title "Mink Car" it
registered in my brain as "Mint Car". If I would have read the title aloud
that wouldn't have happened. My brain is kinda screwy I guess. (When I saw
title of the new Radiohead CD, "Amnesiac" for the first time, I comprehended
it as meaning one who is anemic.)

When I had been thinking of the new TMBG CD title, I was picturing The
Johns in a gaudy mint green Cadillac. Flans especially seems to have a taste
for that high roller Vegas style. Now that I think of the actual title, it in
effect has the same feel to it. I think of a gaudy Cadillac covered with mink
fur.

They've always been like that...reluctant to give autographs...How does that
make them sellouts?

Well. Boooooooooo-hoo. You an' me an' everyone else who don't have Their
autographs are just cryin' right now. If they stopped the car for you, it
would soon become patently obvious what was going on, and Their car would
have promptly been surrounded by people begging for autographs. Not cool.
